Miss Strawberry Days Scholarship & ATHENA International Leadership contestants learned the Eight Principles of Leadership
In May the 2019 Miss Strawberry Days Scholarship & ATHENA International Leadership contestants learned the Eight Principles of Leadership that were developed by Martha Mertz the founder of ATHENA International.
Past ATHENA recipient Andrea Palm-Porter was the instructor of the program while other past recipients mentored the contestants and shared stories of how they live by these principles in their daily lives. The event was put on by the Glenwood Springs Chamber Foundation in conjunction with a generous donation from the Marianne & Richard Reinisch Foundation (Nancy Reinisch’ parents) and hosted by the Hotel Colorado in their newly renovated Roosevelt banquet room.
The contestants will be awarded ATHENA International Leadership Certificates, prior to the crowning of the 2019 Miss Strawberry Days and her court, Friday, June 20 at 6p.m.on stage at Sayre (Strawberry) Park.
This years 14 contestants also participated in a photo shoot with photographer/graphic design expert Gina Sheldrake/Wedelnify on the new Grand Avenue Pedestrian Bridge. Afterwards this years 2019 Miss Strawberry Days judges met the contestants at a meet/greet pizza party at Russo’s on Market Street at the Glenwood Meadows.
